Field Day Highlights
Field Day 2027 is June 26–27, 2027
Same weekend every year — the fourth full weekend of June. Setup starts Friday, we go on the air at 11:00 Saturday morning, and we do not stop until Sunday afternoon.

One weekend a year, radio goes back to the field
ARRL Field Day is the largest annual amateur radio event in the United States. On the fourth full weekend of June, tens of thousands of operators haul radios, antennas, generators, and an unreasonable amount of food into fields, parks, and parking lots — and try to contact as many other stations as they can in 24 hours.
The catch is that none of it may lean on the things we normally take for granted. No mains power. No permanent antennas. No cell networks holding it together. Everything gets built from nothing on Friday, works all weekend, and comes down on Sunday.
It is part contest, part disaster rehearsal, and part enormous nationwide campout. When a storm takes out the grid or an earthquake takes out the towers, the people who practised this are the ones who can still get a message through.
Three ways to be part of it
You do not need a licence, a radio, or any idea what any of this means. Pick the door that sounds like you.
Come and visit
Walk in, look around, ask anything. Make a real radio contact at the GOTA station with someone sitting beside you, catch a talk, and stay for dinner. Free, all ages, no licence required.
What to expectOperate or speak
Five stations across voice, CW, digital, VHF and satellite, running around the clock. Claim a shift, bring a mode you love — or propose a talk for the education tent.
Stations & sign-upVolunteer
Raise tents and masts, cook for a hundred people, welcome visitors, mentor a newcomer, or take photographs. Most jobs need no radio knowledge at all — just two or three hours.

Four clubs, one field
Seattle Radio Field Day is run entirely by volunteers from four Seattle-area amateur radio organizations. Every one of them is worth joining.

Field Day is free because volunteers give their weekend and clubs cover the rest. If you would like to help make 2027 happen, there is a job with your name on it — and donations go straight into food, fuel, and gear.
